Summary

The Laserfiche Server Automation service stops unexpectedly. When the service crashes, it creates a log file in the Server Automation installation folder. The dump file will contain an error involving an ACCESS_VIOLATION.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Workflow Suite 7.0.x. The fix is an updated version of LFSO11.dll (version 7.0.1.10).

To update Workflow

  1. Stop the Laserfiche Server Automation service.
    1. Click Start, navigate to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and select Services.
    2. Scroll down and select Laserfiche Server Automation.
    3. From the Action menu, click Stop.
  2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing LFSO11.dll (version 7.0.1.10).

  3. Replace the LFSO11.dll located at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFObjects" with the one included in the zip file.
  4. Register LFSO11.dll.
    1. Click Start and then click Run.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and click OK to register LFSO11.dll:

      regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\LFObjects\LFSO11.dll"

  5. Start the Laserfiche Server Automation service.
    1. Click Start, navigate to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and select Services.
    2. Scroll down and select Laserfiche Server Automation.
    3. From the Action menu, click Start.
