Laserfiche 7, Plus 7

Summary

Microsoft does not support installing any edition of SQL Server 2000 (including MSDE) on Windows Vista or Windows 7.

More Information

How does this affect Laserfiche?

  • You can install Laserfiche Server on Windows Vista or Windows 7 and it is able to access a SQL Server 2000 database that is hosted on a separate computer.
  • Default installations of standalone editions of Laserfiche 7.x (Desktop, Executive, and Notebook) are not currently supported on Windows Vista or Windows 7 because they use MSDE. However, you can install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition for use with standalone editions of Laserfiche.
  • You can still use Laserfiche Plus 7.2 to publish and view published repositories on Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7.
