Publishing Multiple Volumes Can Result in Copies of the Same Folder Where Each Folder Contains Documents from One of the Published Volumes.

November 2, 2006 | KB: 1011687
Plus 7.2

Summary

If you select to publish multiple volumes and your Laserfiche repository includes a folder that contains documents stored on the selected volumes, the resulting Plus repository will contain multiple copies of the affected folder such that each copy of the folder contains documents from only one of the published volumes.

Cause

When you publish multiple volumes, Laserfiche exports multiple temporary briefcases, each containing the entries from one volume. However, when creating the final published repository, Plus is not correctly merging the folder structure.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Plus Publisher 7.2. The fix is an updated version of LFEng.dll (version 7.2.1.407). This fix affects how Plus imports the temporary briefcases when creating the final published repository. When creating the Plus repository, Plus Publisher will now merge the folder structures.

To update Plus 7.2

  1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the updated version of LFEng.dll.
    Hotfix_SCR26596.zip
  2. On the workstation with Laserfiche Plus, replace the existing version of LFEng.dll located in the Laserfiche client installation folder with the updated version. By default, the Laserfiche client is located at "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Client."
