Summary

Import Agent 7 cannot import Laserfiche briefcases that were created from Laserfiche Client 7.2.x. The Windows Event Viewer will contain a "Decompression of briefcase failed" error message for the Import Agent service.

Cause

Laserfiche 7.2 uses a different format to create briefcases. Briefcases exported from Laserfiche client 7.2 are in tar.gz format. Import Agent expects a briefcase to be in .zip format and is unable to import Laserfiche 7.2 briefcases.

Note: You can still export briefcases from a Laserfiche 7.2 repository using Laserfiche client 7.0.x or 7.1.x. The exported briefcase will be in zip format and can be imported as normal by Import Agent 7.
