Web Access 7.2.1

Summary

The Web Access 7.2.1 installation contains a step where you can enable the ability to prompt users each time they start Web Access Scanning to automatically upgrade Web Access Scanning 7.2 to version 7.2.1. If you do not enable this feature during the installation, you can manually enable this feature afterwards by editing the registry.

More Information

Manually enabling this feature involves the following steps:

  • Edit the "Allow721Update" DWORD value under the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Web Settings" registry key.
  • Manually copy the installation package for Web Access Scanning 7.2.1 to a "Updates" subfolder located in the ASPs folder of your Web Access installation folder. By default, the location would be "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Web Access\ASPs\Updates."

To enable automatic updating of Web Access Scanning

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor.

    regedit

  3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  4. Expand SOFTWARE.
  5. Expand Laserfiche.
  6. Select Web Settings.
  7. Double-click the "Allow721Update" registry value and set it to 1.

Note: This feature also requires that the Allow users to download scanning installation option is enabled in the Web Access Administrator's Utility.
