Optimizing OCR for Speed Using the Registry

November 1, 2006 | KB: 1011679
Laserfiche 7.2.1, Import Agent 7.0.2, Snapshot 7.0.3, Integrator's Toolkit 7.2.1

Summary

The OmniPage OCR engine allows you to choose between optimizing your OCR process for speed or accuracy. You can modify the registy to specify which mode Import Agent, Send to Laserfiche, Snapshot and Toolkit will use for OCR. By default, they will optimize the OCR process for accuracy.

Note: The Laserfiche Client, Scanning, Web Access Scanning, and Quick Fields allow you to choose your optimization mode within the product itself. The registry modifications will not affect these products. However, OCR optimization cannot be configured for Send to Laserfiche in the Client. To configure OCR optimization for documents added to the repository using the Send to Laserfiche command from Microsoft Windows, please see "To optimize OCR in Import Agent, Send to Laserfiche, Snapshot and Toolkit for speed," below.
