Laserfiche 7

Summary

By default, new folders are not automatically assigned a default template. If you want new folders to be assigned a default template, you can modify the registry and add a registry value.

More Information

Add a "NewFolderTemplateName" string value to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Client\Profile\YourRepositoryNameSettings registry key.

Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may adversely affect your system. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs.

To set a default template for new folders

  1. Click Start and then click Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor utility:

    regedt32

  3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
  4. Expand Software.
  5. Expand Laserfiche.
  6. Expand Client.
  7. Expand Profile.
  8. Select the YourRepositoryNameSettings registry key.
  9. From the Edit menu, point to New and select String Value.
  10. Name the new value:

    NewFolderTemplateName

  11. Double-click the newly created value and set the value to the name of the desired template.
