The WebLink 7 Administrator's Utility May Change the Fields in a Repository Configuration to all Upper Case Characters.

October 23, 2006 | KB: 1011671
Weblink 7.0.5

Summary

When you use the WebLink 7 Administrator's utility to configure multiple repository configurations and your WebLink installation is licensed for one Laserfiche repository, the utility may change the values for each repository configuration to upper case characters. This situation can create issues because the WebLink license checking mechanism is case sensitive when comparing repository names.

Workaround

Make sure the repository names for each of your repository configurations are of matching case.

To modify the repository name for a repository configuration through the WebLink 7 Administrator's utility

  1. Load the WebLink 7 Administrator's utility.
  2. In the data grid, click on the repository name that is not in all upper case characters and reselect it in the subsequent drop-down list.

More Information

You can also modify the repository configurations shown in the WebLink 7 Administrator's utility by directly editing the registry.

Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may adversely affect your system. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs.

To modify WebLink 7 repository configurations through the registry

  1. Click Start and then click Run
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor.

    regedt32

  3. Browse to the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Laserfiche WebLink\Admin Settings

  4. If the Database string value contains multiple entries for the same repository, make sure that each entry for the repository matches exactly.
