An Internet Explorer Script Error Occurs When You Attempt to Insert Multiple Field Tokens Using the > Button.

Summary

In Laserfiche Scanning and Laserfiche Quick Fields, when setting the default document properties, you can use the > button to insert field tokens into the document name. However, when you try to perform this action consecutively to specify multiple field tokens, you may receive an IEScript error similar to the following:

Cause

Microsoft Cumulative Security Update 918899 affects a JavaScript file used by Laserfiche Scanning and Laserfiche Quick Fields.

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Scanning and Quick Fields. The fix is an updated version of ContextMenu.js (last modified on January 22, 2007).

To update ContextMenu.js

  1. Close any open instances of Laserfiche Scanning and Laserfiche Quick Fields.
  2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the updated version of ContextMenu.js.

  3. Replace the existing version of ContextMenu.js located in the HTML subfolder of your Quick Fields or Laserfiche Scanning installation folder. The default installation folders for Quick Fields and Laserfiche Scanning, respectively, are:
    • C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Quick Fields
    • C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Scanning
