When Dragging and Dropping a File From Laserfiche Into a Windows Folder that Contains a File with the Same Name, You Are Prompted To Replace The Existing File With a 0 Byte File

June 13, 2006 | KB: 1011213
Laserfiche 7.2

Summary

When dragging and dropping a document from your Laserfiche repository into a Windows folder that contains a file with the same name, you will be notified of the duplication and prompted to replace the existing file with the new one or cancel the export. If the document is a Laserfiche document, the file replace prompt will erroneously list its size as 0 bytes.

More Information

Although the document you are exporting through drag and drop is not 0 bytes in size, the Laserfiche Client is unable to determine its actual size. The Windows dialog will therefore display it as a 0 byte file. However, the file does contain the images you are exporting; the message indicating its size can be safely ignored.
