An "Error 3092: Invalid column name 'LocDb'." Error Occurs When Upgrading a Repository Using the Laserfiche Repository Upgrade Utility.

Summary

When using the Laserfiche Repository Upgrade Utility to upgrade your existing repository for use with Laserfiche Server 7.2, you may receive the following error message:

    Error occurred.
    Error 3092: Invalid column name 'LocDb'.

Cause

The SQL database of the repository you are upgrading is configured for the full version of Microsoft SQL Server. However, it is currently attached to an instance of MSDE or SQL Server 2000 Personal Edition.

Workaround

The SQL database is now in an invalid state. Restore the database from backup and make sure that the database is attached to the correct edition of Microsoft SQL Server before reattempting the upgrade process.

Use SQL Server Enterprise Manger to verify that your database is attached to the correct edition of Microsoft SQL Server.

To view the edition of SQL Server you are using

  1. Load Enterprise Manager.
  2. Select the SQL Server instance with your attached database.
  3. From the Action menu, click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, view the Product field.
