Summary

The Browse Folders dialog box can take a long time to load.

Cause

When you open the Browse Folders dialog box, it loads the entire folder structure as a way of increasing browsing speed. However, this can severely impact load time when the dialog box is first loading.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Snapshot 7.0.3 and Import Agent 7.0.2. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche Snapshot and Laserfiche Import Agent.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for the affected products. The hotfix is an updated version of LFSOFolderBrowser.ocx (version 1.0.0.4). The Browse Folders dialog box now only loads each folder as it is opened. While the dialog box itself will now load more quickly, be aware that this may lead to wait times at each individual folder.

To update LFSOFolderBrowser.ocx

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing LFSOFolderBrowser.ocx.
   Hotfix_SCR27064.zip
2. Extract LFSOFolderBrowser.ocx from the zip file and replace the existing version at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Controls.
3. Register the new version.
   1. Click Start and then click Run.
   2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to register the file:

      regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Controls\LFSOFolderBrowser.ocx"
