Summary

When you drag thumbnails into a folder to create a new document, you may receive the following Internet Explorer scripting error:

    Automation Server can't create object.

Cause

The Internet security zone where Web Access runs is preventing the Web Access ActiveX thumbnail management utility from properly working.

Resolution

Add the Web Access URL to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer.

To add Web Access to the list of trusted sites

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
  4. On the Security tab, click Trusted sites.
  5. Click Sites.
  6. In the Add this Web site to the zone text box, specify the URL of the server that hosts Web Access.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Click OK to save your change and close the Trusted sites dialog box.
  9. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

More Information

When you visit the Web Access website for the first time after performing the above resolution, you may receive the following message prompt:

    An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of this page. Do you want to allow this interaction?

If you click Yes, Web Access will function properly when you drag thumbnails into a folder to create a new document. If you click No, you may receive the error message mentioned in the above Summary.
