Summary

When you attempt to download an electronic document from the search results window, you may receive the following error message:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for WebLink 7.0.4. The fix includes updated versions of the following files:

• AssemblyInfo.vb (last modified on February 9th, 2006)
• Search.aspx.vb (last modified on February 9th, 2006)
• WebLink7.dll (version 7.0.4.2 and later)

To update Laserfiche WebLink 7.0.4

1. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the hotfix files.
   Hotfix_SCR24650.zip
2. Replace the AssemblyInfo.vb and Search.aspx.vb files in C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 7\WebFiles with the ones included in the zip file.
3. Replace the WebLink7.dll files in C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 7\Web Files\bin with the one included in the zip file.
4. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service.
   1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
   2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
   3. Double-click Services.
   4. Scroll down and select World Wide Web Publishing.
   5. From the Action menu, select All Tasks, and click Restart.
