Snapshot 7

Summary

Laserfiche Snapshot is compatible with the Standalone editions of the Laserfiche client. However, a default installation of Snapshot may not automatically detect the existence of a local repository.

Resolution

Manually edit the Server and Database string values under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Snapshot\Profile registry key to force Snapshot to recognize the existence of a local repository.

Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may adversely affect your system. Before you edit the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs.

To edit the registry

  1. Click Start and then click Run
  2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to load the Windows Registry Editor.

    regedt32

  3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
  4. Expand Software.
  5. Expand Laserfiche.
  6. Expand Snapshot.
  7. Expand Profile.
  8. Double-click the Server string value and set it to:

    <STANDALONE>

Note: If the Server string value does not exist, create it by going to the Edit menu, selecting New, and then clicking String Value.

  9. Double-click the Database string value and set it to:

    YourRepositoryName

Note: If the Database string value does not exist, create it by going to the Edit menu, selecting New, and then clicking String Value.

Note: Be aware that if you use Snapshot to log in to a network repository after performing this procedure, you will have to re-perform the given procedure in order to reconnect to your local repository.
