Summary

When you attempt to register or create a repository, you may receive the following error:

[7024] Attach repository failed: The number of repositories would exceed the licensed limit.

Note: This error message is found in the lfs.log file, which is an error log generated by the Laserfiche Server. The lfs.log file is found in the installation folder for your Laserfiche Server. By default, this folder is located at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server.

More Information

This error occurs when you have already registered as many repositories as your Laserfiche Server license allows. If you no longer need to access an existing repository, you can unregister it in order to register or create a new one. If that option is not available, please contact your certified reseller for additional information on increasing the repository licensing limit of your Laserfiche Server.

To determine the number of repositories for which you are licensed

  1. Browse to your Laserfiche Server installation folder. By default, Laserfiche Server is installed at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server.
  2. Open the lfs.log file.
  3. Locate the following line:

Product ID is ID (limit N repositories)

    • ID is the product ID number identifying the type of Laserfiche Server (72 for Team Server, 73 for United Server, or 74 for United Enterprise Server).
    • N is the maximum number of repositories that can be registered at any given time.
