Web Access 7, WebLink 7

Summary

By default, Laserfiche Web Access and WebLink display images in black and white. Web Access and WebLink can be configured to display black & white images as higher-quality grayscale images instead. This article describes the process for configuring image quality in Laserfiche Web Access and WebLink.

More Information

By default, Laserfiche Web Access and WebLink are configured to display black & white images in black and white. This type of configuration increases the speed at which images are displayed and decreases the amount of bandwidth used. Alternatively, these Laserfiche products can be configured to display images in grayscale. Please note that this may result in documents opening more slowly and in greater bandwidth usage.

Note: These settings will only affect those documents that were scanned or imported as black and white images. Images that were scanned or imported into Laserfiche as grayscale images will not be affected by these settings.

Image quality in Laserfiche WebLink is controlled by the individual WebLink user. Once the choice of black and white or grayscale display has been made by a WebLink user, it is saved as a cookie and will be used as the default view until it is changed by the user. Laserfiche Web Access, on the other hand, allows an administrator full control over image quality. The image quality configuration selected by a Web Access administrator will affect all users.

  1. Navigate to your Laserfiche WebLink web site and log in.
  2. Open a document containing TIFF images.
  3. From the Document Viewer toolbar, click the Grayscale button to view images in grayscale or the Black and White button to view images in black and white.
