Laserfiche 7

Summary

Laserfiche 7 uses DCOM to allow communication between the Laserfiche Server and client. In order for the Laserfiche client to connect to and communicate with the Laserfiche Server, DCOM must be enabled on both the Laserfiche Server and that Laserfiche client workstation. This article describes how to enable DCOM on a Laserfiche client workstation.

More Information

DCOM is enabled by default on most systems. The majority of issues involving DCOM are due to the DCOM configuration on the Laserfiche Server. For information on how to configure DCOM on the Laserfiche Server, please refer to the Knowledge Base articles listed in the Related Links section.

If DCOM has been disabled on a particular Laserfiche client workstation, that Laserfiche client will not be able to connect to the Laserfiche Server until DCOM has been enabled. The following procedure describes how to enable DCOM on a Laserfiche client workstation.

  1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.

  7. From the Action menu, click Properties.
  8. In the My Computer Properties dialog box, click the Default Properties tab.
  9. Select the Enable Distributed COM on this computer check box and then click OK.
