A "Failed writing data to repository [7050]" Error Occurs When OCRing.

September 14, 2005 | KB: 1011023
Server (MSDE) 7, Server (MSSQL) 7

Summary

When OCRing documents, you may receive the following error message:

Failed writing data to repository [7050]

Cause

This error occurs when an expansion database is not correctly attached, or when it has been attached under an incorrect name. Expansion databases are created, when using Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Edition (MSDE) and Microsoft SQL Server: Personal Edition (MSSQL:PE), to store word location information. Word location information allows a user to search document text. If an expansion database is not attached, or is attached under a different name, Laserfiche will be unable to write or access word location information.

Resolution

Expansion databases must be attached to the SQL server. For instructions on correctly attaching your expansion database, please see the following Laserfiche Knowledge Base article:

1011022 HOW TO: Attaching Expansion Databases to MSDE or SQL Server Personal Edition.
