Summary

This article describes the process of renaming a repository. The safest way to rename a repository is to unregister it using the Laserfiche Administration Console, and then re-register it using the new name.

To rename a repository

  1. Load the Laserfiche Administration Console.
  2. Expand the appropriate Laserfiche Server.
  3. Expand the Repositories item.
  4. Select the repository you wish to rename.
  5. From the Action menu, point to All Tasks and then click Unregister Repository.
  6. Click Yes when prompted to confirm the unregistration.
  7. Enter the Laserfiche system manager password and click Ok.
  8. Click the Repositories item.
  9. From the Action menu, point to All Tasks and then click Register Repository. This will start the Laserfiche Repository Registration wizard. Click Next. The Connect to a Laserfiche Server step will appear.
  10. Select the appropriate Laserfiche Server name and authentication information.
  11. Select the appropriate DBMS.
  12. Click Next. The Laserfiche Specific Settings step will appear.
  13. Specify the new repository name, and the repository path for the repository you are renaming.
  14. Click Next. The SQL Server Specific Settings or Oracle Database Specific Settings step will appear.
  15. Specify the appropriate DBMS information and click Next to display a summary of the parameters that will be used to register the repository.
  16. Verify that all the settings are correct and then click Finish to register the repository with the new name.
