Summary
Two procedures may be performed when OCRing an electronic document. The first step updates the images associated with an electronic document. This step requires LaserFiche Snapshot. If LaserFiche Snapshot has not been installed, then the user will not be allowed to update the images associated with an electronic document.
The second step recognizes the text on the images associated with an electronic document. The second step can be performed by any LaserFiche workstation for which the OCR engine files have been installed.
More Information
If an electronic document has not previously undergone the OCR process, then LaserFiche Snapshot must be installed on the workstation that will perform the initial OCR process. If you would like to update the images in the electronic document to reflect any changes that might have been made to the electronic document, then the workstation from which the images in the electronic document will be updated needs to have LaserFiche Snapshot installed. However, any LaserFiche workstation may OCR an electronic document for which images have been created.
