Field Data Loss When Attaching Volume.

Summary

Certain volumes exported in LaserFiche version 6.0, 6.01 and 6.02 cannot be attached to a LaserFiche database. This issue occurs for exported volumes associated with index card templates into which a field was inserted (not appended). The export process would then reassign a document's field values to other index card fields. Whenever a single field value exceeds the width defined for the corresponding index card field, then an error will be returned.

Resolution

Install LaserFiche Client, Desktop, Executive, Intuition, MinuteFile, Notebook, Personal Edition, or Plus version 6.04 or higher.

Network Installations: Install LaserFiche Server version 6.04 or higher.

More Information

Upgrading LaserFiche will now allow you to publish and reattach these type of volumes without encountering this issue. However, attempting to reattach previously exported volumes affected by this issue will generate an error in the log file. This error will stipulate the document and the field for which data was truncated or lost. An error will no longer be generated when viewing documents affected by this issue.
