Exporting a Volume to an Existing Volume Path May Leave Residual Files.

Summary

Exporting a volume to a path that already has an exported volume does not actually delete the files that are contained in the directory specified. Therefore, if the number of images, text, or electronic files is smaller in the newly exported volume, then the export path will contain residual files from the previous volume. Although this does not affect the exported volume in any manner, this issue can leave residual files that take up drive space.

Workaround

Manually delete the files in the desired path prior to exporting the volume.
