Summary

When Snapshot is configured to authenticate using Windows authentication, the Repository Login dialog box displays every time a user prints or loads the Laserfiche Snapshot Configuration dialog box.

Cause

The Repository Login dialog box should only display once per Windows session. Snapshot 7.0.2 was updated to use Laserfiche Server Objects (LFSO) when interfacing with the Laserfiche Server and no longer uses LFAPICom. However, the code that controls logging in through Windows authentication was not completely updated. This resulted in the Repository Login dialog box displaying even after a user had already successfully logged in using Windows authentication during the current Windows session.

Resolution

There is a hotfix available for Snapshot 7.0.2. The fix is an updated version of Snapshot.exe. This fix is included in Snapshot.exe (version 7.0.2.2 and later). The Repository Login dialog box should only automatically appear the first time a user prints or loads the Laserfiche Snapshot Configuration dialog box during the current Windows session.

To update Laserfiche Snapshot 7.0.2

1. Close any open Laserfiche Snapshot Configuration
2. Click the following link to download a zip file containing the updated version of Snapshot.exe:
   Hotfix_SCR23770.zip
3. Replace the Snapshot.exe located in the Snapshot installation folder with the updated version. By default, Snapshot is installed at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Snapshot 7.
