Summary

Routing rules that perform actions using the Document's parent folder option can encounter issues if the folder contains shortcuts. Routing actions may not be executed and you may receive errors similar to the following when running Server Automation in console mode:

    Unexpected problem:

    com.laserfiche.dbobjects.LaserFicheObjectException trying to get template data for doc id x in db YourRepository

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche Workflow Suite 7.0.1. Please upgrade to the latest version of Workflow Suite.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Workflow Suite 7.0. The fix is an updated version of DBInterface.jar (last modified on July 12, 2005). The fix also requires Laserfiche Server 7.1.1 or later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche Server.

To update Workflow Suite 7.0

  1. Stop the Server Automation service.
    1. Click Start, navigate to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and select Services.
    2. Scroll down and select Laserfiche Server Automation.
    3. From the Action menu, click Stop.
  2. Click here to download a zip file containing an updated version of DBInterface.jar (last modified on July 12, 2005).
  3. Replace the DBInterface.jar file located in the Server Automation installation folder with the one included in the zip file. By default, the file is installed at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WorkflowSuite\ServerAutomation.
  4. Restart the Server Automation service.
    1. Click Start, navigate to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and select Services.
    2. Scroll down and select Laserfiche Server Automation.
    3. From the Action menu, click Start.
