WebLink Does Not Remember the DBID of the Repository You Were Last Logged In To.

Summary

WebLink does not remember which repository users are using after they click the Logout link. After clicking the Logout link, The Login page would default to the repository specified by DBID=0.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in WebLink 7.0.4 and later. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche WebLink.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for WebLink 7.0.3. This hotfix enables WebLink to remember which DBID you were using after you log out using the Logout link.

Note: This hotfix does not enable WebLink to remember which DBID you were using if your session times out.

If you are using a previous version of WebLink, you must upgrade to WebLink 7.0.3 before applying the hotfix. The fix is included in the the following files:

  • AssemblyInfo.vb (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • Browse.aspx (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • Browse.aspx.vb (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • DocView.aspx (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • DocView.aspx.vb (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • Login.aspx.vb (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • Search.aspx (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • Search.aspx.vb (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)
  • WebLink7.dll (version 7.0.3.1 or later)
  • WebLinkStyles.css (last modified date 8/26/2005 or later)

To update Laserfiche WebLink 7.0.3

  1. Click here to download a zip file containing the hotfix files.
  2. Replace the WebLink7.dll file in C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink\Web Files\bin with the one included in the zip file.
  3. Replace the AssemblyInfo.vb, Browse.aspx, Browse.aspx.vb, DocView.aspx, DocView.aspx.vb, Login.aspx.vb, Search.aspx, Search.aspx.vb and WebLinkStyles.css files in C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebL ink\Web Files with the ones included in the zip file.
  4. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing service.
    1. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
    3. Double-click Services.
    4. Scroll down and select World Wide Web Publishing.
    5. From the Action menu, select All Tasks, and click Restart.
