More Information

See the following list of new features and fixes for version 7.1.

New Features for version 7.1

  • Records Management features have been updated to be compatible with Laserfiche Server 7.1.x. (19166)
  • The search page has been redesigned to more closely match the search user interface in the Laserfiche Client.
  • Web Access now includes a web scan utility that supports interfacing with TWAIN scanner drivers.
  • When opening a document from the list of search result context hits, the selected context hit is highlighted on the image. (19373)
  • You can now pass search commands to Web Access through a URL. (19311)
  • Text can be retrieved from certain types of electronic files, making them searchable. (19197)
  • The Effective Rights tab of the Edit Access dialog box now also supports displaying the effective rights for Windows users. (19178)
  • Web Access now properly audits when a user exports a PDF. (19118)
  • There is now a "Log Out" option allowing users to log out of the Laserfiche repository without relying on the IIS timeout. (17897)
  • You can now create new documents by dragging thumbnails from an existing document into a folder. (17516)
  • The Fields section of the document window now allows a user to change the template associated with the document. (17133)

Changes for version 7.1

  • Web Access no longer requires a connection file (x.con). This functionality is now controlled through the license file (LF.lic). (21279)

Fixes for version 7.1.

  • 1011028 A Web Page Appears to Have Stopped Responding After Opening A Folder Containing Many Subfolders.
  • 1000939 A "This page contains both secure and non-secure items." Warning Occurs When Opening a New Window.
  • Closing an empty Edit Text dialog box no longer returns a Microsoft VBScript runtime error message. (18014)
  • The ability to move thumbnails incorrectly required that a user be granted the Import feature right. Moving thumbnails no longer requires the Import feature right. (17130)
  • In the Thumbnails pane, specifying the last thumbnail and clicking Go did not display that page. The option now functions correctly. (17015)
  • Highlighting or redacting text would cause the Laserfiche Server to report that the event occurred on both the image and the text. This may not necessarily be true. Text highlights or redactions will only be applied to the image when the action is performed on OCR generated text. This issue is most relevant for installations that are using Audit Trail to keep track of repository events. Highlighting or redacting non-OCR generated text now correctly only reports that a text highlight event has occurred. (6950)
  • Closing a document before it has completely loaded no longer causes Web Access to become non-responsive. (5394, 6895)
  • A text annotation could not be performed on a single character when the character that follows it was a punctuation mark. For example, the number 3 and the letters "p" or "m" could not be individually highlighted in the phrase "3:00 p.m.". However, the phrase "3:00 p.m." as a whole could be annotated. You can now properly annotate a single character. (7464)
