Summary

The Browse Folders dialog box can take an unexpectedly long time to load.

Cause

When you open the Browse Folders dialog box, it loads the entire folder structure. This can result in a long load time in large repositories.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche client 7.1.2. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche client 7.1 and Laserfiche client 7.1.1. The fix is an updated version of LFSOFolderBrower71.ocx. This fix is included in LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx (version 7.1.0.2 and later). The Browse Folders dialog box now loads each folder as it is opened. While the dialog box itself will now load more quickly, be aware that this may lead to wait times at each individual folder.

To update Laserfiche 7.1.x

1. Click here to download a zip file containing LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx (version 7.1.0.2).
2. Close Laserfiche Scanning and the Laserfiche client.
3. Replace the LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx located at C:\Program Files\Common files\Laserfiche\Controls with the one included in the zip file.
4. Register LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx.
   1. Click Start and then click Run.
   2. In the Run dialog box, type the following and then click OK to register LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx:

      regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Controls\LFSOFolderBrowser71.ocx"
