Summary
The Laserfiche 6 uninstallation removes all files created during the installation. The uninstallation process does not automatically remove files generated during normal software usage, such as log files and user configuration files. If other Laserfiche products are installed, files that are shared with these other Laserfiche products are also not removed during the uninstallation process. In addition, certain registry keys may not be automatically removed. This article documents the files and registry keys that may not be removed after a successful uninstallation.
More Information
See the following sections for details on items that may not be automatically removed by the uninstallation process. You can manually remove them after completing the standard automated uninstallation process.
The Client installation folder
Installing Client plug-ins such as Snapshot or E-mail creates subfolders in the Client installation folder. As these folders are not created by the Client installation program, they are not removed during the uninstallation process. In addition, temporary hidden files are generated when viewing the Client help file. This hidden .GID file is not removed during the uninstallation process.
The Server installation folder
Log files generated in the Server installation folder are not removed during the uninstallation process. The LFS.log and lfstartup.txt files are left in the Server installation folder after a successful uninstallation.
The lf.ini files
The lf.ini file contains user configuration preferences for the Laserfiche Client. Depending on the operating system of the computer, multiple versions of the file can exist. Please see the following Laserfiche Knowledge Base article for more information on the location of the lf.ini file:

Registry keys
The following registry keys may not be automatically removed during the uninstallation process. The Client and ServerSQL keys are automatically removed if the current installation was not an upgrade from a previous version. If the installation was upgraded from a previous version, the Client and ServerSQL registry keys will contain subkeys corresponding to the previous version. This prevents the uninstallation from removing the parent key. The Database keys are not created during the installation. Instead, they are created when the first repository is created.
