Laserfiche Server Does Not Support Creating Briefcases Over 2 Gigabytes or Briefcases With More than 65,535 Files.

Laserfiche 7, Plus 7

Summary

Briefcases created by Laserfiche Server 7 have the following maximum limits:

  • 2 gigabytes in total size
  • 65,535 total files

Be aware that Laserfiche may fail silently if you attempt to export a briefcase that exceeds these limits.

Resolution

Laserfiche Server 7.1.1 and Laserfiche Plus 7.1 no longer silently fail when exporting briefcases that exceed 2 gigabytes. An error is now reported if you attempt to export a briefcase of that size. Plus 7.1 now allows you to publish multiple selected folders. Organize the multiple folders to be published such that each contains less than 2 gigabytes of data.

When exporting more than 65,535 files, Laserfiche Server 7.1.1 and Plus 7.1 will now create sub zip files that will be added to the main briefcase zip file. This new functionality now allows you to briefcase more than 65,535 files at a time.

More Information

Laserfiche Plus uses briefcases when publishing a repository. This means that these briefcase limits will also limit the size of a published repository.

Note: These briefcase limits do not affect volumes and thus, do not affect volume exports.
