Summary

When you are installing from a Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services session, you may receive one of the following error messages.

Internal Error 2755. 3 Path\myapp.msi

Cause

This error occurs if you are running a Terminal Server session and the path to the installation file is a mapped drive. Because the Windows Installer service is running in a different session than the user, the service is unaware of the drive mappings and cannot find the installation files.

Resolution

Perform one of the following:

• Browse to the installation package using the full Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path.
• Run the installation package locally from the Terminal Server.
