Summary

Certain Laserfiche 7.1 licenses sent out between May 18, 2005 and May 26, 2005 may be invalid.

The following product licenses may be invalid:

  • Laserfiche Client (Laserfiche Scanning)
  • Laserfiche ScanConnect
  • Laserfiche Quick Fields
  • Laserfiche Bar Code

Symptoms

If you have an invalid license file, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms.

  • Loading Laserfiche Scanning causes script errors.
  • Laserfiche ScanConnect, Capture Engine, and Field Access are not properly installed.
  • An error message involving improper licensing occurs when you click on the Bar Code option in Quick Fields.

Resolution

The Laserfiche Support Site now contains valid licenses. Please revisit the Support Site, download a new set of license files, and reinstall the appropriate Laserfiche products using the new licenses.

More Information

There are four different types of invalid licenses. A brief description of the invalid portion of each license file is given below.

  • The Laserfiche Scanning block in the Laserfiche Client license file may not contain a connection feature.
  • The Laserfiche ScanConnect license may not contain a valid version string.
  • The Laserfiche Quick Fields license may not contain valid Capture Engine and Field Access blocks.
  • The Laserfiche Bar Code license may contain two connection features.
