Summary

Laserfiche Server does not normally perform shrink operations on the SQL database. Over the course of time, this can lead to the SQL database becoming larger than needed. The Laserfiche 6 to 7 Migration wizard only migrates necessary elements into the new SQL database. As such, the new SQL database will not contain the unnecessary elements that may have been present in the source database. Because of this, it is likely that a newly migrated SQL database will be smaller in size than the original source SQL database.

Several tables associated with Workflow Suite and Audit Trail are not migrated from Laserfiche 6 to Laserfiche 7. In some cases, these tables may be quite large. If a source SQL database is associated with a Laserfiche repository configured for Workflow Suite and Audit Trail, the migrated destination database can be significantly smaller in size. The migrated database may be as small as ten percent the size of the source database.
