Summary

There are two ways to change the sample image in Laserfiche Scanning.
You can either:

  • Change the sample image for the current scanning session.
  • Change the default sample image.

More Information

Perform one of the following procedures to change the sample image used by Laserfiche Scanning.

To change the sample image for the current session

  1. Start Laserfiche Scanning.
  2. Select the Laserfiche Scanning tree item.
  3. From the task pane (which appears on the right hand side of the Laserfiche Scanning window), perform one of the following:
    • If you would like to import a sample image, you should click the Import sample image link. When the Import Files dialog box appears, browse to and then select the desired image. Click OK. The selected image will be displayed in the Image pane.
    • If you would like to scan an image, you should click the Scan sample image link. A single page will be scanned using the currently selected scanner. The scanned image will display in the Image pane.

To permanently change the sample image

  1. Use Windows Explorer to browse to the Laserfiche Scanning installation folder. By default, Laserfiche Scanning is installed to: C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Scanning.
  2. Replace SAMPLE.TIF with the new image that will be used as the default sample image. The new image should be in TIFF Group 4 format.

Note: Be aware that if your sample image has a different compression or DPI than your scanned images, the regions for processes may be off.
