Summary

Attempting to open an existing session after installing a new version of Quick Fields may result in the following error messages:

Failed to create (LFImageFix.BPProcess.1) object. The object is not properly licensed.

and

Unexpected file format.

Cause

Quick Fields cannot open sessions that use processes that have not been installed. For example, the image enhancements from Quick Fields 6.x are no longer directly available in Quick Fields 7.x. Uninstalling Quick Fields 6.x will remove these image enhancement processes from your computer. In turn, this may prevent fresh installations of Quick Fields 7.x from opening older sessions that use these image enhancements.

Workaround

Instead of uninstalling your previous version of Quick Fields before installing Quick Fields 7.x, upgrade your existing Quick Fields 6.x installation to version 7.

To open Quick Fields 6.x sessions in Quick Fields 7.x

1. Uninstall Quick Fields 7.x.
2. Install Quick Fields 6.x.
3. Make sure that all of the processes required by your session have been installed. One way in which you can make sure of this is to open the session in Quick Fields. If the desired session successfully opens, then you have installed all of the necessary processes. Close Quick Fields.
4. Run the Quick Fields 7.x installation and upgrade your existing installation.
5. Open the desired session.
