This article documents the list of changes for Quick Fields 7.1.
See the following list of new features, changes, and fixes for version 7.1.
New Features for Version 7.1
- There is a new type of scanning engine called "Laserfiche Photo Capture." This scanning engine is designed to scan images from digital cameras and removable drives.
- There is a new type of image enhancement called "Laserfiche Photo Correction." It adjusts the appearance of photos taken of a document. Photos of a document can be adjusted so that
they appear
as if they were captured through a scanner.
- You can now specify a default session. The specified session is automatically loaded when you start Quick Fields.
Changes for Version 7.1
- Windows NT is no longer supported. (18091)
Fixes for Version 7.1
- In certain situations, folder shortcuts could cause Laserfiche Capture Engine to go into an infinite loop. For example, if two folders contained shortcuts to each other, Capture
Engine would scan the first folder, see the shortcut and start scanning the second folder, see the shortcut and start scanning the first folder. This issue is now resolved by Capture
Engine limiting the number of times a folder can be scanned to a single time. (18161)
- Consecutive invalid string fields could cause Quick Fields to go into an infinite message box loop. This issue is now fixed. (18075)
- Viewing document pages could cause a slow memory leak. This issue is now resolved and Quick Fields will not slowly consume memory. (18072)
- Upgrading from Quick Fields 6.1 directly to Quick Fields 7 did not properly update the Expervision OCR engine. The installation now correctly updates the scanning engine when you
upgrade. (18036)
- Laserfiche Capture Engine did not enforce the Move and Delete feature rights when scanning documents. The Move and Delete feature rights are now correctly enforced when scanning
documents.
(17798)
- The Require login when sending documents option was disabled when the session was set to send documents manually. You can now set the option when the session is set to send documents
manually. (17756)
- Copying and pasting a document class that uses a security tag could prevent you from reopening that session. This issue is now resolved. You can now safely copy and paste document
classes
that use security tags. (17752)
- Deleting a Form Identification process from a session and then changing the order of the document classes could corrupt the session. This issue is now resolved. (17712)
- Deleting a page in a document actually removes the successive page. This issue is now resolved and Quick Fields will remove the actual page that you selected. (17691)
- Quick Fields could be started while you had a Laserfiche Scanning window open. This could cause unwanted behavior. Quick Fields can no longer be started if a Laserfiche Scanning
window is open. (17496)
- Feature rights inherited from a group were not being recognized. Quick Fields now correctly takes into account feature rights inherited from groups. (17227)
- A session unexpectedly closes after scanning over 15,000 pages if the session is set to display the image being scanned. This issue is now resolved and a session no longer automatically
closes. (17126)
- The OK button would become disabled after changing the type of documents that will be extracted with Laserfiche Capture Engine from "All" to something else, even if this action resulted
in a valid configuration. Changing the document retrieval type option will now properly enable/disable the OK button. (16980)
- Two line removal processes within the same document classes could cause all processes after the second line removal to silently fail. This issue is now resolved. (16945)
- When Dynamic Thresholding is used as a local image enhancement for Laserfiche Bar Code, it would permanently change the image. This issue has been resolved. This type of configuration
will only temporarily affect the image being processed. (16898)
- Setting the destination folder to a folder shortcut in Laserfiche 7 would return an error if you tried to send documents. You can now safely set the destination folder to use a folder
shortcut. (16853)
- The Deskew image enhancement contained an image size limitation which returned an error message if you used a large image. The size limitation has been removed. (16798)
- The Stop button would not become enabled immediately after scanning started. This button is now enabled, thus allowing you to stop scanning. (16694)
- Laserfiche Capture Engine would not retrieve electronic documents for sessions configured to "Display the image being scanned." Electronic documents can now be scanned, regardless
of this option. (16638)
- Repairing a Quick Fields installation could remove parts of the license. This issue is now resolved and repairing an installation will no longer corrupt the license. (16564)
- Field data extracted by Laserfiche Capture Engine could be lost if the session was configured to immediately send documents. (16333)
- Setting an administrator password for a session would not take affect until Quick Fields was closed. For example, the class manager would still display if you assigned an
administrator password and then reopened the session as an operator without first closing and restarting Quick Fields. (16260)
- Viewing color images in slide show mode can use large amounts of memory. Stopping the slide show would not free up the used memory. Stopping the slide show now correctly frees up
any allocated memory. (16216)
- Pressing CTRL-V would not allow you to paste processes that contain local enhancements. You can now use the CTRL-V keyboard shortcut to perform this action. (15828)
