More Information
Field widths are restricted by template size limit:
While a field can contain up to 4,000 characters and a template can contain up to 1,023 fields, these two specifications are superseded by a third restriction: a template can have a maximum size of 4,000 characters. With this restriction in mind, a template is limited to 16 fields if the width for all of the fields is set to 250 characters. 16 fields with 250 characters each creates a template with a size of 4,000 characters. Additional fields cannot be added to this template, since the total field width has reached the maximum size.
Maximum number of templates and volumes:
The limit for the maximum number of templates and volumes per repository is determined by the number of templates and volumes that were ever created. In other words, you will not be allowed to create a volume once you have created 32,767 volumes, regardless of the number of volumes that you have deleted or detached. This limit represents the sum of physical and logical volumes. There is no other limit dictating the number of physical volumes that can be supported by a logical volume.
Nested folders:
The Laserfiche Client does not prevent you from creating more than 256 folder nesting levels. However, be aware that going above this limit may create issues with other Laserfiche products.
Access rights limits:
In addition to each instance in which access rights have been specifically assigned to an object, the limitation on the total rights assignment per object includes all instances in which access rights have been assigned to a parent of the object (up to and including the root folder).
Maximum image dimensions:
The maximum dimensions for an image that can be safely supported is limited by the memory on the computer hosting the Laserfiche Server and the computer on which the Laserfiche client is installed.
Expansion Databases:
Expansion databases are only used in editions of Laserfiche that use MSDE as the DBMS.
