Printing Electronic Documents from the Folder Browser May Not Work.

Summary

The following message appears when you select one or more electronic documents from the Folder Browser and then click Print.

    The default printer settings will be used when printing electronic files.

After this message appears, the Print dialog box loads. All of the dialog box options are disabled except for Print Type, which is set to Electronic files. After clicking OK, no further action takes place.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Laserfiche Client 7.1. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche.

Workaround

If you are using Laserfiche 7.0.x, you have several options on how to print electronic documents that are not associated with an image. Perform one of the following:

  • Open the electronic document in its native program to print the document.
  • To print multiple electronic documents at once, export the electronic documents to a temporary location, and print from Windows Explorer.

    Note: Selecting multiple PDFs from Windows Explorer and trying to print them at the same time may not always successfully print all the documents. In certain situations, some PDFS may not be printed. You may be required to print those PDFs individually.

  • Snapshot the electronic documents and print the images associated with them.
