Duplicate Templates Are Created When Attaching Volumes.

Laserfiche 6, Plus 6

Summary

When attaching a volume that contains a template that matches an existing template in your Laserfiche repository, a duplicate template may be created in your Laserfiche repository.

Cause

The matching template contains a list field. When attaching volumes, Laserfiche interprets any template with a list field as a separate template even if the details and design of the list field are an exact match for the list field in the preexisting template.

Workaround

Add a setting to the LF.ini files to prevent the same template from being created multiple times.

To prevent the creation of duplicate templates

  1. From a text editor, open the LF.ini files. See the More Information section for more information on the location of the LF.ini files.
  2. Under the [Options] section, add the following line:

    MatchTemplateLists=0

  3. Save the changes to the file and close the text editor.
  4. Open Laserfiche and attach the desired volumes.
