Summary

In certain situations, Laserfiche Scanning (version 7.0.x), Laserfiche Quick Fields (version 7.x), and Laserfiche Snapshot (version 7.x) incorrectly use up an additional license.

Cause

While Laserfiche Server (version 7) can allow multiple Laserfiche client programs (version 7) on one workstation to share a license, this feature is dependent on the interface used by the client programs. Laserfiche Scanning (version 7.0.x), Quick Fields (version 7.x), and Snapshot (version 7.x) retain use of a legacy interface when communicating with the Laserfiche Server. As a result, the license sharing feature is not fully compatible with these client programs.

Resolution

This issue is partially resolved in Laserfiche Server 7.0.2 and later. If you are encountering this issue, please upgrade to Laserfiche 7.0.2.

Note: This issue can still occur if the computer name is different than that returned by the DNS server.

Laserfiche Scanning was redesigned for Laserfiche 7.1. This issue is fully resolved in Laserfiche Scanning 7.1.

Laserfiche Snapshot 7.0.2 has been updated to use Laserfiche Server Objects (LFSO) when interfacing with the Laserfiche Server and no longer uses LFAPICom. This issue is fully resolved in Laserfiche Snapshot 7.0.2.
