Summary

When using Terminal Services, it may be necessary to install both the Laserfiche Client and the Viewer. However, simply running the installation program a second time will not allow you to install a second instance.

Cause

The setup wizard recognizes that the program is already installed and brings up the Modify, Repair, or Remove the program dialog box. The setup wizard will not rerun the install setup.

Workaround

Create another folder and copy the Client files to that folder.

To install the Laserfiche Viewer on the same computer:

1. Create a folder for your Viewer. For example, create the following folder: C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Viewer.
2. Copy all of the files in your Client installation folder to the new folder except for the LF.lic license file. By default, the Client should be installed at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Client.
3. Copy the Assets subfolder to the Viewer folder.
4. Insert the Laserfiche Viewer license disk into your floppy disk drive.
5. Copy the license file from the license disk to the folder created in step one.
6. Create two shortcuts on the desktop. These shortcuts will be used to open the Laserfiche Client and the Viewer. These shortcuts should point to the LF.exe file stored in their respective folders.

Note: To uninstall the Viewer, manually delete the folder containing the Viewer.
