Web Access 7

Summary

This article documents known issues with Web Access version 7.0.

More Information

Known issues for version 7.0:

  • 1000993 Internet Explorer May Become Unresponsive After Adding a Highlight or Stamp. (21232)
  • 1000991 Pop-up Blockers Can Prevent Web Access From Properly Functioning. (15311)
  • 1000939 A "This page contains both secure and non-secure items." Warning Occurs When Opening a New Window. (10199)
  • A script error occurs when opening a document with a quotation mark in its name. This error can also occur if you open a document linked to any document with quotation marks in its name and if you open a document that has been assigned a tag whose name contains a quotation mark. (17994)
  • Cookies are not saved when Web Access is located at the server's root URL. This prevents some Web Access properties from being saved. For example, Folder Browser options, such as the default stamp color, and changes to the default import volume, are not saved. (17933)
  • Web Access 7.0 and WebLink 6.x can both be installed on the same computer. However, be aware that they share certain components. If you install them both on the same computer, WebLink will no longer be able to connect to Laserfiche repositories (version 6) and there may be security configuration issues. (17761)
  • An error may appear when a date field is cleared. (17729)
  • To move thumbnails, a user must be granted the Import feature right. (17130)
  • In the Thumbnails pane, specifying the last thumbnail and clicking Go does not perform any action. (17015)
  • Refreshing your web browser returns you back to the repository root folder. (16718)
  • In the Laserfiche Web Products Administrator's Utility, when you remove a repository, all higher dbids are shifted down one accordingly. (13333)
  • Highlighting or redacting text will cause the Laserfiche Server to report that the event occurred on both the image and the text. This may not necessarily be true. Text highlights or redactions will only be applied to the image when the action is performed on OCR generated text. This issue is most relevant for installations that are using Audit Trail to keep track of repository events. (6950)
  • Performing certain procedures may cause the current instance of Web Access to become non-responsive. For example, closing a document before it has completely loaded may cause this issue. If Web Access becomes non-responsive, then you should restart the Web Access browser session. A session can be restarted by closing all browser instances of Web Access on the affected workstation and then reloading Web Access. (5394, 6895)
  • Any type of image file may be selected for use as a stamp. However, only monochrome bitmap image files (.bmp) can be used as stamps. All other images will generate an error when attempting to stamp a page. (6873)
  • A text annotation cannot be performed on a single character when the character that follows it is a punctuation mark. For example, the number 3 and the letters "p" or "m" cannot be individually highlighted in the phrase "3:00 p.m.". However, the phrase "3:00 p.m." as a whole can be annotated. (7464)
  • The Folder Browser is not actively being refreshed. In other words, the user will need to successfully perform an action from within the Folder Browser, in order to see the most current information (i.e. current listing of folder contents or field data). (5639)
  • Once an error code has been configured, the Web Products Administrator's Utility will only allow the administrator to modify the message associated with the error code. The error code itself cannot be modified. If you would like to reassign a message to a different error code, then you will need to copy the message from the original error code, create the new error code, and then paste the description into it. If the old error code is no longer needed, then you may delete it. (7202)
