There are various issues that may arise when trying to use the Laserfiche 6 client and the Laserfiche 7 client on the same computer. For instance:
- If the Laserfiche 7 client is already open, and you try to open the Laserfiche 6 client, it will actually bring up your Laserfiche 7 client.
- If both clients are open, drag/dropping onto the Laserfiche 6 client actually imports into the 7 client. It does this by opening the Import dialog box in the Laserfiche 7 client
and importing documents
into the repository to which the Laserfiche 7 client is connected.
- The Laserfiche 6 client will not share a connection with the Laserfiche 7 client. This means that an additional license will be used on the Laserfiche Server.
- The OCR feature will not work for Laserfiche (version 6.1) after Laserfiche (version 7) has been installed. If you would like to have both versions of the LaserFiche Client installed
on the same machine, then you should upgrade LaserFiche from version 6.1 to version 6.11. (13481)
- If you have the Laserfiche 6 Admininistration Console installed and you install the Laserfiche 7 Admininistration Console, the Start Menu might only have a shortcut to the Laserfiche
7 Admininistration Console, but not the Laserfiche 6 version.
Note: The Laserfiche Administration Console installed with version 6 should never be used to administrate a Laserfiche repository (version 7).
