Import Agent 6.03

Summary

This article documents known issues with Import Agent 6.03.

Import Agent Known Issues:

  • Import Agent must be restarted if installed after Laserfiche 7. (16169)
  • The Document Creation tab of the Edit Monitored Directory dialog box contains a naming convention text field. This field allows you to enter names over 31 characters. However, the document name is truncated to 31 characters when a document is imported. (16121)
  • Field data will not be set for fields where the user only has the Create template access right. You must also have the Edit template access right. This issue can occur when connecting to a Laserfiche 7 repository. (16120)
  • Field data that do not match field constraints are ignored. The field does not get filled and you do not receive an error message. The document is still imported into Laserfiche. This issue can occur when connecting to a Laserfiche 7 repository. (16119)
  • Import Agent does not support templates with required fields. If you choose a template with required fields, blank documents without an assigned template are created in Laserfiche. This error occurs even if the required fields are filled in. The Event Viewer will contain a "Could not update index card data. Error creating document" error. This issue can occur when connecting to a Laserfiche 7 repository. (16118)
  • Import Agent cannot correctly utilize folders with folder names longer than 31 characters. If you use the configuration utility and select a folder with a long name, documents are imported into the repository's root folder. Import agent cannot create new folders with long names. The configuration utility cannot browse to subfolders of folders with long file names. This issue can occur when connecting to a Laserfiche 7 repository. (16115, 16116, 16117)
  • You may not browse to a shared folder when looking for a monitored directory. However, you are allowed to type the UNC path to the shared folder. (9146)
  • A monitored directory cannot be configured to a mapped network drive. If you would like to monitor a directory on your network, then you should use Universal Naming Convention (UNC). (9875)
  • When importing briefcase files, it will override the template setting for the monitored directory configuration used to capture the file. If the documents contained in the briefcase belong to a template that matches an existing template, then it will assign documents to that template. Otherwise, a new matching template will be created and assigned to the imported documents.
  • Import Agent supports time configured to use AM\PM or 24-hour format. If the Windows time format has been configured to use symbols other than AM\PM, then Import Agent will not be able to use the scheduled time. This will cause issues with the Laserfiche Import Agent Configuration Utility. It will also prevent the Import Agent service from starting properly. (5120)
  • The printed documentation mistakenly states that version 6 of the Laserfiche Server is required by Import Agent. Import Agent requires version 5 or higher of the Laserfiche Server.
