The efficiency of the scanning process has been dramatically improved.

Resolution

Install LaserFiche Client, Desktop, Executive, Intuition, MinuteFile, Personal Edition, or Plus version 6.03 or higher.

Network Installations: Install LaserFiche Server version 6.03 or higher.

Optional:
In addition to the scanning speed enhancements that have already been implemented, you may further optimize the scan process through the following steps:

1. Find and open the LF.INI. If more than one LF.INI file exists, then you should open the LF.INI in the Application Data\LF folder.
2. Under the [Settings] section, add or modify the AutoGenerateThumbnails line to read as follows: AutoGenerateThumbnails=0
3. Save the LF.INI file.

Note: This setting will also improve the efficiency in which briefcases can be imported into a database.

Note: This optimization will cause a slowdown the first time thumbnails are displayed for a scanned document or a document imported through a briefcase.

More Information

At times, it may be necessary to find the LF.INI file to perform a special type of configuration. This file can always be found in the x:\Windows or x:\WinNt directory. However, another version of this file may exist in another location. Please refer to the following list to find your LF.INI:

• Windows 95/98/ME: Only one version of the LF.INI file exists. It can be found in the x:\Windows directory.
• Windows NT: The LF.INI file can be found in the x:\WinNt directory and in the following path under the WinNT directory: Profiles\Current_User\Application Data\LF.
• Windows 2000/XP: The LF.INI file can be found in the Windows directory and in the following path under the Document and Settings folder: Current_User\Application Data\LF.

Note: The letter x stands for the drive letter on which the system files were installed.
