Summary

When using TWAIN as your scanning interface, you may receive the following error message:

The following error occurred while retrieving a parameter. [4386:1]

Cause

You may be using an unsupported scanner.

Workaround

Edit the LFTWAIN.ini file to suppress this error message.

To edit the LFTWAIN.ini:

1. From a text editor, open the LFTWAIN.ini file. This file is located in the Laserfiche client installation folder. By default, the location is C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\LFW.
2. Under the [Scanner Model] section, look for a line starting with "ErrorLevel=."
3. The default value is 1. Modify the line to look like the following:

   ErrorLevel=3

4. Save the changes.

Note: This workaround will only suppress the error message. However, this does not guarantee that your scanner will work properly.
