Summary

You can configure the Laserfiche Capture Engine to retain field information on documents retrieved from the repository.

To configure Laserfiche Capture Engine to retain field information:

1. From the Scan menu, click Scanner Setup.
2. Enter the appropriate database login information.
3. In the LaserFiche Capture Engine Properties dialog box, click the General tab.
4. Select the Presort images to reflect document structure option.
5. Click the Index Card Criteria tab.
6. Select the Index card template check box and choose the desired template.
7. Click OK.
8. Make sure the template selected in the document class matches the template of the documents you wish to process.

   Note: This causes Laserfiche Capture Engine to only retrieve documents associated with the selected template.

   Note: If the document class assigns field values, the values originally assigned to a document can be overwritten.

   Note: If the document class is using a different template from the documents you wish to process, you can use Capture Engine Field tokens to import the existing data into the new template. Please see the Appendix of the Laserfiche Quick Fields online help for more information on Tokens.
