All Images May Not be Retrieved When Updating Multiple Electronic Documents.

March 12, 2004 | KB: 100065
Laserfiche 6, Plus 6

Summary

All pages may not be retrieved when updating the images for more than 20 electronic documents during the OCR process.

Resolution

Install LaserFiche Client, Desktop, Executive, Notebook, or Plus version 6.03 or higher.

Network Installations: Install LaserFiche Server version 6.03 or higher.

And:
In addition to upgrading LaserFiche, you will need to increase the amount of time that LaserFiche will wait for images retrieved from an electronic document. The amount of time can be configured by specifying the number of seconds in the OCRWaitTime line under the [Settings] section of the LF.INI. A sample configuration is shown below:

    [Settings]
    OCRWaitTime=60

Note: Certain applications do not announce when they are done printing. For these applications, adding this configuration may cause the LaserFiche Client\Standalone to wait the amount of time specified by the OCRWaitTime setting before it stops trying to retrieve images from an electronic document.

More Information

At times, it may be necessary to find the LF.INI file to perform a special type of configuration. This file can always be found in the x:\Windows or x:\WinNt directory. However, another version of this file may exist in another location. Please refer to the following list to find your LF.INI:

  • Windows 95/98/ME: Only one version of the LF.INI file exists. It can be found in the x:\Windows directory.
  • Windows NT: The LF.INI file can be found in the x:\WinNt directory and in the following path under the WinNT directory: Profiles\Current_User\Application Data\LF.
  • Windows 2000/XP: The LF.INI file can be found in the Windows directory and in the following path under the Document and Settings folder: Current_User\Application Data\LF.

Note: The letter x stands for the drive letter on which the system files were installed.
