Laserfiche 6, Plus 6

Summary

You can set LaserFiche to open different image file formats with the LaserFiche standard document display, instead of a native application. By default, images such as jpegs are imported as electronic documents and are opened with a native application. By editing the LF.ini, LaserFiche will associate any newly imported images with the LaserFiche standard document display.

Resolution

Modify a setting in the LF.ini to associate newly imported files of the desired image file format with the LaserFiche standard document display.

To associate images with LaserFiche:

  1. From a text editor, open the LF.ini. See the More Information section for information on the location of the LF.ini files for your operating system.
  2. Under the [Options] section, look for a line that starts with "ImportConversionList=." This setting contains a list of image format extensions that are associated with LaserFiche. The default setting should look like the following:

    ImportConversionList=tif,bmp,pcx

  3. Add the extension of the image format you wish to associate with the standard document display. For example, to associate newly imported jpegs with the standard document display, modify the line to look like the following:

    ImportConversionList=tif,bmp,pcx,jpg

Note: Changing this setting will only affect newly imported images. Images previously imported will remain associated with the native application or the standard document viewer depending on the ImportConversionList setting when the image was first imported.
