Summary

When scanning, you may receive the following error message:

LaserFiche caused a General Protection Fault in Module BC45ORTL.DLL

Cause

The LaserFiche Client installation folder may contain an outdated copy of the OWL31.DLL library.

Resolution

Visit the LaserFiche FTP server to download the correct version of OWL31.DLL.

1. Click here to download OWL31.DLL.
2. Rename the OWL31.DLL file that currently exists in your LaserFiche Client installation folder. By default, the location is C:\Program Files\LaserFiche\LFW. For example, rename the file to "OWL31.DLL.OLD."
3. Move or copy the OWL31.DLL you downloaded from the FTP site to the LaserFiche Client installation folder.
